Interactive Fiction Games With an Interactive Typewriter

Tuesday, November 2nd, 2010

Engadget makes note of one man’s modification of an old electric typewriter, turning it into an interactive terminal for, of course, text-based adventure games.

Billions spent in research to create miniature geek toys!

Thursday, April 1st, 2010

Not that there’s anything wrong with that!  Found some cool photos on BuzzFeed (via ToplessRobot) about the smallest USS Enterprise ever created – 1:1000000000 in scale.  Digging deeper, it looks like it was part of a Nanofabrication Micrograph contest that was looking for the coolest things you could build at a nano scale.  My favorite is the dancing women… for some reason it reminds me of the song ‘Simply Irresistible’ by Robert Palmer.

Here are some of the cool entries:

Nano Trek

Attack of the Clones

Dancing Girls (my favorite)

iPhone light saber duel

Wednesday, March 31st, 2010

Looks like a light saber duel game is coming to the iPhone based on the Lightsaber Unleashed app which had the swooshing and the typical Lightsaber humming sound.  I think this is pretty much a bite off the iSamurai game, but I think it’ll be interesting to see the 11 character that you have to fight.  It’ll also have a ‘Force Lightning’ feature for those of you baddies who choose the Dark Side.

Biohacking – DIY Bio

Thursday, March 25th, 2010

I didn’t even know such a hobby existed, but apparently there’s a whole culture of geeks who are doing all sorts of biological experiments from their basements.

For those of you who are interested, here’s the article I read on the subject.  Please don’t clone me.

Here are some other sites: DIYbio, Biohacking Resources

If anyone has any other sources, add them in the comments, or shoot me an email and I’ll post it.
